Signs Of Spring

Finally it looks like spring is here in Minnesota. Spring flowers and green leaves have started popping up on trees. Hopefully in a week or two we will see Cherry Blossom and gardens full of flowers. Here are some early pictures from Minnesota Arboretum.

An Afternoon At A Japanese Garden

Japanese Gardens are just one of my favorite places I love to visit. I have been to a few Japanese Gardens as I always try to find one whenever I visit any new City. But I had a unique experience in the Japanese Garden of San Francisco and I would love to go there again.

After seeing the famous places in San Francisco like The Exploratorium, Palace of Fine Art Theatre, Golden Gate Fort Point, we headed to the Japanese Garden. We took the smaller scenic road Lincoln Blvd rather than taking the Highway 1.  We reached the Garden at around 1 O’Clock and started taking the walk. Its really really beautiful. After the walk we were fully tired and hungry as earlier in the day too we had walked a lot. We saw a Japanese Tea Cafe in the Garden and went there hoping to get something to eat or drink( we are vegetarians and so no meat). The Cafe too was a unique experience. We asked for some vegetarian stuff to eat and any hot tea to the Japanese Lady over there. She suggested us to have Jasmine Tea and some kind of flavored rice(I don’t remember the name). Initially we were not sure what kind of taste it will be with just the rice and tea. In a few minutes she brought rice and tea in a bowl. We asked her how to use this bowl. She told us to put some rice and mix some tea in it and have it as  soup(You will see in the pics :)). We were surprise that we truly enjoyed it. The cold weather also added to the flavour of soup.
